Thinking of traveling but quite short on budget and time? Hey, it’s time for you to visit Taguig City! In the midst of many condo for rent, there are also a lot for you to explore in this “city with a soul”. If you are in for a short trip, BGC is your go-to travel destination.

How to commute going to BGC?

You can go there by riding the MRT and alighting at the Ayala Station. Take the north exit, the opposite side where you can see Glorietta. You can easily see the BGC Bus Terminal at the Telus House Mckinley Exchange Building.

There are also UV Express Service heading to Market! Market! which is a few blocks away from the travel destinations in BGC.

What to see and what to do in BGC

Artworks

The Bonifacio Arts Foundation, Inc. (BAFI), a non-stock, non-profit organization, spearheaded the Public Art Program of Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation. That’s the reason why you’d see accessible artworks and colorful murals around BGC. Even the trash bins are well-designed in BGC!

You’d effortlessly spot the murals as they are all over BGC. There is “Between the Lines” by Cyrcle along 7th Avenue corner Federacion drive, “Wonderland” by Faileart of Brooklyn along 5th Avenue corner 26th street, and “Pilandok” by Egg Fiasco at Bonifacio High Street.

The sculpture of Ben-Hur G. Villanueava, “Ang Supremo”, is also in BGC. Other art installations are “The Trees” by Reynato Paz Contreras, “Tinstaej #85” by Conrado Velasco, and the floor chimes “Presence” of Reg Yuson.

Museums

Are you a science lover? Go ahead and visit “The Mind Museum” along J.Y. Campos Park, 3rd Avenue. The world-class educational museum is also a project of BAFI. The exhibitions involve different things categorized under Atom, Earth, Life, Universe, Technology. There are also outdoor displays in the Museum.

There’s also a branch of Miracle Art Happyworld Museum in Market! Market! If you are an enthusiast of illusionist-3D art, you should try visiting this Museum. The rates are very affordable too so you can tag a friend along in your visit.

Korean Cultural Center

You might be planning to visit Korea soon and going to Korean Cultural Center may serve as an introduction to that country.

Korean Cultural Center or KCC offers plenty of activities and events. They have classes for Korean language, KPop dance, Korean singing, Cooking, Taekwondo and Traditional Dance. KCC also holds Korean Film Festival, Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival, Korean Culture Caravan, and Film & Concert Screening which are usually for free! If you are interested in any of their events, check their website before your visit so you can secure your slot.

Adding more into that, you can enjoy the KCC library which established last July 2011. The library hosts more than 5,000 titles of printed and multimedia materials of different genre and kinds. It is open from Mondays to Saturdays, 9 AM to 6 PM with lunch break 12 NN to 1:30 PM. The library is closed on declared holidays of Korea and Philippines.

Restaurants and Bar

If you are looking for a gastronomical adventure, get your tummies ready for there are a lot of restaurants offering scrumptious and mouthwatering food in BGC! Va Bene Paste Deli is one of the best Italian restaurants in Manila. You can also check Shaburi in Uptown Mall, an eat-all-you-can healthy Japanese shabu-shabu. This resto is good for big groups. Tim Hortons is dubbed as Canada’s world-renowned coffee house. Definitely a go-to for coffee lovers.

You can do a quick search on the other restaurants in BGC and their best-sellers.

And to cap off your visit, why not party and enjoy the nightlife in this city? You can get a few drinks at the Bank Bar. What’s interesting with the Bank is that they are located in RCBC Savings Bank Corporate Building and its entrance is inside 7-11. Yes, this is for real! You can also chill at Straight Up Roofdeck Bar, Skippy’s Bar & Grill, and Relik Tapas Beer.
