For example, different lens coatings and magnification options can impact your accuracy. Take the time to do your research for the ideal binoculars and scopes for you.

2. Ammunition

You can’t take a shot without bullets. When hunting, the ammunition you use will change depending on the game, the gun and the distance from where you will shoot. Big game animals, like bears and elk, require different types of bullets than smaller ones. Make sure that when shopping, to buy the right ammo for the hunt.

Don’t forget when selecting to pay attention to the gun you will use as all guns are not alike, and you need the right bullets for that gun. Finally, be sure that your ammunition is for the correct distance. If hunting close range, you want your shot to kill the animal, not destroy it.

3. Appropriate Tools

When packing for your trip, choose hunting gear that will keep you comfortable in any weather, hide you from animals and give you the tools necessary if you get injured. As you prepare, start by buying gear that is weather-appropriate and protects you from the elements. If you need to cross through rivers or creeks, you will want a good pair of waders.

It may seem obvious, but you don’t want your clothes to expose you when hunting. Camouflage goes a long way in helping you from being spotted by animals. Finally, make sure that you bring a first aid kit in case any injuries do happen.
